Continuing with my ‘THANKS’ theme, I want to take this opportunity to thank my editors, past, present, and future. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them. I’ve had different relationships with different editors, but one thing remains the same–I’ve learned something from all of them.
I still have a lot to learn, and yes, I need to curb my need to use exclaimation points still, but my writing has grown and changed so much over the years and it’s all thanks to my various editors.
So thank you all, for not strangling me when you’ve had to delete a million commas and dialoge tags, for listening to me whine, for reassuring me when I think everything I’ve written is crap, and also for giving me the kick in the pants when I’ve needed it. I don’t know what I’d do without you!

I just got a great review. I wicked great review. I’m beyond psyched about it too. (want to see why? http://ck2skwipsandkritiques.com/spitfire_kristi.html) I’ve been feeling a bit stressed lately (ya think?) and that has made me less than my normally cheerful self. Getting this review totally mad my day.
It’s amazing the power words have. As an author I guess I should understand that, but I don’t think that realization has ever hit me quite so hard before. I make my living with words. I like to think that I’m quick to compliment and quick to say thank you, but I KNOW I’m quick to criticize and quick to complain.
How many people could I make happy with my words? How often have I made people feel worse because of my words?
I think it’s time to turn over a new leaf and use my powers for good. Starting now.
Want to join me?
In a public forum, thank someone for their hard work. Compliment someone who deserves it, or even if they don’t. Welcome a newcomer on a group list.
I’ll start.
I want to thank all the people in my Yahoo group who make me laugh, who are kind to not only me but each other, and who support me with every release, good or bad.
Writing may be a solitary job, but I couldn’t do it without a ton of support from a small nation of people. So thank you so very much.
