Anyone need a babysitter?

Posted by Arianna Hart - July 19th, 2007

But only for baby-babies, 18 months or younger. Maybe even a year or under.

I was looking at my girls’ baby pictures and feeling nostalgic. My youngest is going into kindergarten in the fall and I’m thrilled to have the freedom to actually be alone for three hours a day, but I really miss the baby days. Not that I want to go back to them for any length of time, I just want to borrow someone’s baby for a few hours.

I miss baby coos and clean baby smells and drooly smiles and giggles. I really love newborns and how they curl up and just cuddle right into you. *sniff* I think part of the problem is that I had really good babies. The toddler years were a whole different story, but they were all good natured, happy babies who slept. (That’s key) I miss waking up hearing them play in the crib, laughing at the busy box and talking to themselves. (They’re my girls, they talked early and ALL THE TIME)

This is the reason my husband and I decided to do a permanent form of birth control. I could see us in a weak moment getting pregnant again far too easily. And really, as much as I love babies, I don’t want another one. I just want one on loan.

I think it’s time to put away the baby books and focus on my next book instead, that should keep me out of trouble for a little while. . .

Take a few precious hours a day and keep them. it’s hard to be alone, to have peace every now and again!

My daughter (Lily) likes to curl up right into my husband, they are like heating pads. Lily is also a really good baby. how many children do you have?

Well i stopped by to say hi, and i just found your blog, it looks wonderful.

  2. ohhhh, I just love it when they curl up into you!!! My youngest, who is almost 6 now, is a hot one too. We used to call her furnace baby because she was better than an electric blanket!

Glad you stopped by my blog! I have three daughters, ages 10, 8, and almost 6. They keep me busy! Sometimes I think I’ll never be alone again, hahahahaha

    Thanks for visiting!
