Okay, actually I’m going on a southbound plane, but you get the point. Tomorrow I leave for New Orleans to participate in the Writers for New Orleans Conference sponsored by Heather Graham. I’m so excited about the trip I could scream. (and have!) New Orleans has been on my “Places to visit before I die” list for almost my entire life. I love live music, alcohol, food, and fun. Seems to me New Orleans has it all and then some.

I’m looking forward to visiting some of my good friends and making some more. I’m also looking forward to getting re-energized for my writing. I’ve been power slacking this month, and it’s time for it to end. Hopefully, after I return from this trip, I’ll be ready to jump back into my writing with a new passion.

Considering I write romance, passion is a good thing.

Last night I was on my way home from Penn. and got stuck in the never ending traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike. Because I had the kids sleeping in the car, I didn’t want to stop anywhere.

But, I really had to pee.

Bad.

The more painful my bladder became, the faster I drove. As I was flying through my town, relief just moments away, I got stuck behind someone driving 10 miles BELOW the speed limit. Now, I’m all for safe driving, but BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT??????

I decided that we need a universal symbol for “Get out of my way! I’ve gotta pee!”

I’m thinking a big purple, flashing light on top of my car would do it. And maybe a bullhorn.

What do you think? If you saw someone flying up behind you with a flashing purple light screaming incoherently out the window, wouldn’t you get the hell out of the way?
