How had she let herself get suckered into going to dinner with Drog? It was such a juvenile tactic too, and she fell for it. Made her wonder how she managed to get through medical school with the common sense of a combat boot.

Suckered into it or not, that didn’t keep her from doing her hair in an elegant upsweep and applying makeup. Just because she had been conned didn’t mean she had to look like a hag. It wasn’t often that she ate in the officer’s mess, although as a Lieutenant she was entitled to, and she didn’t want to embarrass herself.

Lucy pushed away a flutter of nervousness as the clock in the wall blinked eight o’clock. The numbers hadn’t faded back into the wall before there was a knock at her door. He’s punctual, have to give him that. She took a deep breath for courage and opened the door.

Drog stood at the entrance with a box in his hand. “You look ravishing,” he declared, handing her the box.

“I’m wearing the same thing that I wear every day.”

“I know, and you look delicious in it. Speaking of delicious, these are for you.” He handed her the box with a flourish.

“What’s this?” Lucy asked, taking the box suspiciously.

“The finest chocolates money can buy.”

“Chocolate? Real chocolate?”

“Absolutely, no synthetic, recycled paste here. Just the genuine article. Go ahead, try a piece.”

“I really shouldn’t.” Lucy debated about ten seconds before tearing open the box. Nestled inside cushioned cubicles were at least a dozen pieces of chocolate. She took a deep breath. Stars, they even smelled delicious. Carefully picking one, she took a small nibble off the corner, and moaned in ecstasy.

“Would you like a moment alone?” Drog shot her a hungry look, and she didn’t think it was for the chocolate.

“Could you? I think I could easily skip dinner and just lick my fingers all night long.” She laughed and moved into her room to put the box away. Deciding not to waste any of the rare treat, she licked her fingers clean instead of washing them.

“That doesn’t sound like a bad plan to me.” He had moved into the room while she was putting the chocolate away, and was now right behind her. His eyes blazed into hers and built a fire between her legs that made her knees weak.

“Oh, I’m sorry, did you want some chocolate too? That was terribly rude of me.” She could share one piece since he gave them to her. A small piece.

“Don’t mind if I do.”

Before Lucy could reach for a piece of chocolate, Drog licked the corner of her mouth, sending a jolt of pure electricity straight to her swelling nether regions.

“Yum, best chocolate I’ve ever had,” he said, straightening. “Shall we go?”

Lucy followed him in a daze.

Okay, he won round one. Her body was churning with need, and all he did was lick the corner of her mouth. How could he make her want him so badly with just a simple touch? She knew he was bad for her, knew she’d just be another number in a long line of idiot women. So, if she knew all of this, how come she still wanted him so bad her teeth itched?
